A brand that we are proud to have stocked for many years is about to celebrate 140 years of manufacturing the finest quality leather shoes!
Since 1880 BARKERS have produced shoes in their Earls Barton factory in Northamptonshire using the most carefully selected leathers and shaped the uppers on the last by hand. Many other traditional shoemaking methods are still employed including slow natural drying and polishing.
This is why Barker English shoes have a unique quality that no machine can ever match! Their craftspeople produce some 200,000 pairs of hand lasted sewn shoes each year. A typical Barker shoe requires over 200 operations during the production process! Each pair is carefully inspected to make sure they pass strict quality control before distribution to ensure the customers receive a perfect pair of shoes.
When you see a pair up close, you can see how much care and attention has gone into the design and manufacturing of each shoe – not something that is so common nowadays!
Barker Shoes have become much sought after by discerning customers. Both classic and casual styles are always in demand at prestigious stores around the world where the ‘English look’ is increasingly popular and fits in well with our shop.
Barker Shoes have a loyal customer base at Elliotts and it’s easy to see why they come back time and time again for their Barker Shoes. Genuine quality and individuality is increasingly rare these days, but you can be certain that Barker Shoes will always maintain the very highest standards of shoemaking, as they have done for 140 years.
