ELLIOTTS SETS THE SCENE FOR SUMMER
Feb 22nd
Elliotts, Lymington’s independent fashion store, has previewed its Spring/Summer 2010 collections to the public, for the very first time.
The store operates on three floors in a prime location on Lymington High Street and is one of the only outlets, which retails several top, international designers outside of London.
The Spring/Summer collections have received great reviews from the industry and consumers alike. Most notably the stunning lady’s occasion wear collection, ‘Gold’ by Michael H and ‘Editions’ by Gerry Weber – both new labels for 2010 and now on sale on the first floor, these are in addition to the classic and stylish labels such as Basler.
The ground floor boasts contemporary summer designs from Olsen, MAC and Repeat alongside Betty Barclay, which this season also includes a stylish and fresh work wear collection.
The menswear department has also welcomed its spring and summer collections from designers such as Ralph Lauren, Eton and Ted Baker.
Managing director, Neil Welker, said: “This season, perhaps more than any other before, has brought an incredible cross section of styles and colour matches that reflect the diversity of the different designers that Elliotts stocks.
Neil continued: “Even now our customers, who come from all over the south, are looking towards the improved weather, summer events and holidays, hence the new collections are proving to be so popular at this early stage. It is a case of picking the perfect outfit that is most likely to be exclusive to Elliotts in the south. The store prides itself on chic, select and forward looking designs for everyone.”
The family-run store was established in Lymington in 1872 and in addition to its ladies and men’s fashions, it stocks designer footwear and accessories such as handbags, hosiery and sunglasses.

Elliotts' first Designer Ladies Day saw fashionistas from across Dorset and Hampshire descend upon Lymington's Independant Fashion Store to be a part of Ladies' day.
Elliotts was bustling with people as they viewed the new Autumn and Winter Collections from some of the world’s leading designers.
Highlighting design houses from the ground floor department, Elliotts welcomed customers to view the collections on professional models, whilst enjoying a glass of Champagne.
Elliotts managing director, Neil Welker said: “This was one of many events we are holding throughout the Autumn/Winter for our regular customers and we were all completely overwhelmed by its success!
“We were inundated with customers and the store was buzzing all day. What really brought the event to life were the professional models who showed the ladies how to wear the key trends and styles for the season. This gave customers the opportunity to see exactly what the clothing looked like up close and on a person, rather than on a rail.
“The event was topped off by three lucky customers winning a super prize simply by making a purchase. The prizes included, a spa day at the Chewton Glen Hotel, a £250 voucher to be used in-store and a complimentary hair appointment at Jason Jones Hairdressing. The prize giveaway just added to the excitement of the day!
“Elliotts’ Ladies Designer Day was such a great success that we will certainly look at running the same event next year!”

“Elliotts was one of the first stores in the UK to introduce the popular German designer a quarter of a century ago and it has become a favourite designer with our customers.
“Guests at the show included customers new to the Basler brand and those who regularly purchase the designer clothing. Many customers left the show inspired and brought Basler clothing to recreate the looks that were modelled during the show.”

Neil Welker, managing director of Elliotts said: “Darren and Jo have been invaluable members of the Elliotts team for the past 17 years.
“With over three decades of retail experience between them, they are some of the most knowledgeable staff at Elliotts and their experience is irreplaceable.

They are respected by both our staff and customers and hold the business values, that we believe are very important at Elliotts, including delivering outstanding customer service, which we have been providing for over 130 years since the family-run business was established in 1872.”
Darren Clark, menswear manager said: “It is a great honour to work for such an esteemed company. Working at Elliotts has given me the opportunity to progress in my career, as all staff are offered continued training. As the menswear manager, I can now pass on my knowledge and experience to other members of staff, helping them to develop within the company.”
Jo Shackell said: “Working for Elliotts has given me the opportunity to develop my retail skills and experience of designer fashion. To work for a family owned and operated business, rather than a chain makes you feel like part of the family, rather than just a number.”
