Elliots Established 1872
Elliots Shop Front In 1872, George Elliott, aged 28, married Miss Elisabeth Mary Decent and following a brief honeymoon, opened the Lymington Clothing Mart at 87 High Street on April 20th.

So began a family business that has continued to prosper for over 130 years and has spanned five generations. From the first move to larger premises in 1890, through the years of expansion, to the concentration of the sole Elliotts over the last twenty five years.

Each generation has had their own struggle to maintain tradition and continuity. The priority has always been to embrace the latest methods and practices to enable the business to be a regional leader in style and quality, while at the same time being proud of our history and heritage and maintaining our strong links with tradition and the local community.

Elliotts history is ever evolving & this brief synopsis does it no great credit. Go to next page to know more about this truly remarkable family history.
